Bayer Leverkusen secured their seventh consecutive victory in the Bundesliga with a 2-1 win over Mainz 05 on Saturday.

The German champions were in top form throughout the game and maintained their impressive start to the season, which saw them go undefeated in their first six matches of the campaign.

Despite this, it took Mainz until the 86th minute before they managed to find an equalizer through a well-taken header from the feet of midfielder Yussuf Poulsen.

But Leverkusen refused to give up, and just three minutes later, they scored a winner through another header from Schick. The German striker headed home a corner kick from Diaby to seal the victory for his side.

Overall, the result was a convincing display of quality football from Leverkusen, who continue to show why they are considered one of the strongest teams in Germany.
